Partner Spotlight:
Dads House

Solidarity Sports and Dads House were founded around the same time, by two friends. Billy McGranaghan started Dads House to support single fathers and families in crisis. Sean started Solidarity Sports to give children a place to play and be cared for. Throughout the years, our work has grown alongside each other.

How We Work Together

Dads House refers children to Solidarity Sports and we take them under our wing. We refer families to Dads House when they need food or complex legal advice, because no parent should ever have to face that alone. Sean explains:

"For years, Solicitor Simon Bruce has gone above and beyond for our families. He brings not just extraordinary legal expertise, but heartfelt kindness and warmth at some of the hardest moments of their lives. Simon is one of those rare people who makes the vulnerable feel truly seen and valued. We are forever grateful to have him in our corner."

Dads House CEO,
Billy says,

"Sean and I started our charities around the same time, and we've been side by side ever since. When a family comes through our door and we know their children need more than we can give, Solidarity Sports is the first call. We trust them wholeheartedly."

In Memory of Simon Miller (1965 - 2025)

A tribute from Simon Bruce, Director of Dads House pro bono family Law Clinic

Simon lit up the world of pro bono. He was such a smiling, happy and supportive presence around the Dads House table, always giving the client an effusive and welcoming greeting in his strong tone of voice. His heart was truly full of kindness and a desire to help the underdog. Simon, you were such a loving, warm and loyal friend to all of the Dads House family. We will always love you.

Simon Miller was a fierce supporter of children who had suffered trauma. His work ethic was extraordinary. Simon treated each case as though the child at the centre of it was his own. In 2024, he was named Junior Barrister of the Year.

Simon was the kind of man who put you at ease the moment he walked into a room. You felt safe with him. Simon’s loss is still felt across both our charities. We will never forget how much he gave to the children who needed him most.
