Sherin’s Story

Sherin first joined Solidarity Sports when she was just five years old. Always smiling and kind, she quickly became a friend to everyone. In Summer 2025, she reached out to Sean with a heartfelt message:

“Hey Sean! I’ve been meaning to reach out for ages, I just wanted to say thank you for all the memories and support you gave to us. You genuinely made such a difference to my childhood, and I’ve never forgotten that. I would love to come back and help out if there’s ever anything I can do, even through volunteering. Would be lovely to reconnect either way, hope you’re doing well.”

Sherin kept her word. She came back, this time as a volunteer. Staff quickly noticed what those of us who remembered her already knew: she has a gift for making people feel at ease. “A naturally kind and welcoming presence,” they said, “making the children feel safe and heard.” Seeing her walk through those doors again, this time to give rather than receive, is one of those moments that makes everything worthwhile.
